Position Summary:

The Accountant performs general accounting, cash management, and decision-support activities to support the financial integrity and operational effectiveness of Trinity Health. This role is responsible for accurate financial reporting, analysis, and reconciliation in accordance with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and established accounting standards. Working collaboratively with finance leadership and cross-functional teams, the Accountant contributes to informed decision-making, regulatory compliance, and responsible financial stewardship. This position plays an important role within a structured, team-oriented environment that values accuracy, consistency, and shared accountability in supporting the organization's financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform general accounting functions, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Support cash management activities by monitoring cash balances, processing transactions, and assisting with cash flow analysis.
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports, schedules, and variance analyses to support management decision-making.
  • Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and organizational policies.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to gather financial information, resolve discrepancies, and support budgetary and operational needs.
  • Assist with audits, compliance activities, and special financial projects as assigned.


Licenses and Certifications Required:
  • None.

Educational Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.

Experience Requirements:
  • Five years of related experience required.
  • Five years of healthcare-related experience preferred.

Special Skills or Training Requirements:
  • Computer and ten-key.

Physical Requirements:

This position primarily involves prolonged sitting and computer-based work while preparing reports, analyzing data, and maintaining financial records. The role requires frequent use of hands for keyboarding, calculator use, and telephone communication, with occasional standing or walking within the office environment. Adequate vision, hearing, and communication abilities are required to review financial data, participate in discussions, and interact effectively with colleagues.

Environmental Requirements:

The Accountant works primarily in an office or administrative environment with regular use of computers, financial systems, and standard office equipment. The role involves access to confidential financial and organizational information, requiring strict adherence to confidentiality and data security standards. Work is performed in a deadline-driven environment that requires attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
