Description
Position Overview:
The Director of Supply Chain is a strategic leadership position responsible for overseeing all aspects of supply chain operations across Trinity Health. This role leads the sourcing, procurement, inventory management, distribution, and contracting functions to ensure cost-effective, high-quality, and timely delivery of products and services that support patient care and operational excellence. The Director will collaborate with clinical, administrative, and operational leaders across the organization and leverage data-driven decision-making to optimize supply chain performance. Experience with Workday Supply Chain Management is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive supply chain strategy that aligns with Trinity Health’s mission, goals, and operational needs.
- Procurement Oversight: Lead the sourcing and purchasing of supplies, equipment, and services. Ensure cost-effective purchasing practices that adhere to compliance and ethical standards.
- Inventory and Distribution Management: Oversee inventory control processes to ensure adequate supply levels across departments and facilities. Lead efforts to reduce waste and manage logistics efficiently.
- Supplier and Contract Management: Establish and maintain strong vendor relationships. Negotiate contracts and manage supplier performance to ensure service quality, pricing, and timely delivery.
- Technology and Data Utilization: Drive the effective use of supply chain technology platforms, including Workday, to support automation, analytics, and process improvements.
- Financial Accountability: Manage the supply chain budget, forecast expenditures, and identify cost-saving opportunities. Partner with Finance to align spend with organizational objectives. Prepares capital budgets with department leaders.
- Collaboration and Integration: Work cross-functionally with clinical, finance, IT, and operational leaders to understand and address supply chain needs.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure adherence to applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as organizational policies related to procurement and logistics.
- Team Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing supply chain team. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and professional growth.
- Performance Metrics and Reporting: Monitor KPIs to evaluate the effectiveness of supply chain operations and drive performance improvements based on data insights.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field is required.
- Master’s degree preferred.
Experience:
- A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in supply chain leadership roles, preferably in a healthcare or hospital environment.
- Proven experience in strategic sourcing, inventory optimization, and contract management.
- Experience with Workday Supply Chain or similar ERP systems is highly desirable.
